Upcoming Shows

April 29, 2010
I am getting ready to show rabbits for the first time in over ten years! This weekend I have a show in Monroe, then next weekend there is a big Netherland Dwarf specialty in Moses Lake. I am taking the same 3 rabbits to both shows, so we will see how they do. I really want to breed my black doe, Minnie, so depending on how she does these might be the only times she gets to show off.

I'm so glad I have such great resources in the rabbit world. My little doe, Katniss, was having a severe identity crisis, as I was referring to her as a Siamese Smoke Pearl. After closer inspection of her eye color and her markings, I asked around and was informed that she's actually a Sable Point! SO glad I figured that one out before I took her to a show.

Looking forward to updating some show results soon.

Back to Normal

April 17, 2010
Thank goodness. The wedding was wonderful, my husband is amazing, and we're back to life as usual, albiet hectic.

The bunnies are all doing very well. Both litters seem to be thriving. I've tried to sex Rein's kits. The BU Siamese Sable is a buck, I believe, but I've got a pet home for him if that's the case. I think the Smoke Pearl is a doe, and I've named her Katniss.

The 3 otters are a little over a week old, and are doing very well. I saw an open eye this evening. So exciting! I can't wai...

Elle had her litter yesterday. A day past due, but she did a great job! Her nest is beautiful; I think she pulled every bit of fur from her belly. The little looks strong and warm. There are 2 black otters and 2 blue otters, but one of the blues is a little peanut. Still, after months of trying to get healthy litters born, we've got a nice, full nursery and I'm excited.

Rein's litter is 2 weeks old today. They are looking just precious. I'm wondering about the color of the BUD. I originally t...

A Hectic Week

April 4, 2010
I don't know what I was thinking. I bred a doe, due to kindle on Tuesday, and I am getting married Friday. I have enough to worry about this week. At least I've heard she's a good mama. That will help a lot. The doe, Elle, seemed preggers enough when I palpated her. I was excited to get any conformation at all. In past attempts to palpate I have been completely frustrated. I'll tell you, it's wonderful to be able to know that something should be happening.

There are some spring shows coming u...
